| General description |

The learning materials are based on specialty texts which terminology develops a learner’s ESP skills and content supplements a student’s speciality competence. Active learning techniques, based on CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), are applied.
Course materials require the learners´ language skills on B2 level. |

| General aim |

| The objective of the course is to enhance students' specialty knowledge in the English language. The ESP competence enables a student to participate in international projects and discussions; take part in student exchange; make effective use of specialty texts; listen to lectures and make presentations in English. |

After completing the course a student
• is familiar with the presentation requirements and applies them in making presentations;
• has mastered the terminology of the covered topics;
• applies specialty terminology in exercises, dialogues and in reporting texts. |

| The course takes place in the spring semester. Course capacity is 78 academic hours (39 hours of practical classes and 39 hours of learners' independent work). |

Graded evaluation at the end of the course is based on the grades of tests and oral assignments during the semester.
