General description
Basic notions of market economy. Market demand. Market supply. Market balance. Company cost curves. Fixed costs of a company. Variable costs of a company. Determination of the need of working capital. Basics of business. Ways of founding a company. Types of enterprises. Personnel policy. Basics of real estate economics. Investment and life-cycle costs of a real estate. The methods of the cost estimation during different phases of project. Analysis of real estate investments. Lifespan calculations of real estate. Energy efficency.
General aim
The general objective is to provide the students basic knowledge about the economic mechanisms of the architecture and real estate market, calculation of the lifespan costs of a building, basics of business and management of a architecture bureau.
Aim
The student who has passed the course:
- knows the economic mechanisms of the architecture and real estate market;
- knows the rules of starting a small business in the field of architecture;
- can use the mostly spread methods of analyse at the calculation of investment and life-
cycle costs of buildings, among them based on the aspect of energy saving and
environmental impact;
- is informed about the economic issues of the usage of company resources.

Lectures, practical classes, independent homework in the form of group work, application of E-learning elements.
