General description
The main categories of ethics. The nature of ethical dilemma. Normative ethics and entrepreneurship. Engineer's ethics as professional ethics : the main basic concepts. Practical options of solving ethical conflicts. Ethical problems of engineers both in industry and management. Engineer's liability towards society and nature. Types of social obligation and responsibility. Development of a company's social obligation. Monitoring and control of engineer's activities. Codes of engineer's ethics. Evolution from students into engineers. Ethical culture of the European engineer.

General aim
General aim The aim of the course is to create the conditions necessary to gain knowledge and practical experience in the ethical issues of engineer's work and basics of engineer's ethics. The students learn to prevent and solve ethical conflicts. The course stresses the importance of social obligation and the necessity to orient in socially relevant issues.

Aim
After completing the course a student will: - have an in-depth knowledge of ethical behaviour; - be able to critically analyze and solve ethical dilemmas - be able to orient in and discuss society's ethical problems.

Form description
Day-time studies; distance learning. Lectures, discussions, seminars, different methods of solving problems and confilcts.
