Module Description
General Study Objectives:
To create prerequisites for Information Management and Information Systems Organisation specialty studies and support student’s development in the learning environment teaching them to utilise the techniques of academic self-direction.
To support the development of professional communication and cooperation skills, and utilization of ICT.

Learning outcomes:
The student
• manages the learning environment, understands the structure of the curriculum and study arrangements, and is able to find and use necessary information to pass the studies utilising self-directed techniques;
• utilises job related legislative acts and work environment requirements,
• has high level knowledge of the official language both orally and in written form, and is able to utilise the knowledge and skills in oral and written communication;
• utilises necessary professional digital competences at a required level;
• is able to express themselves clearly, compose written summaries, present them orally, answer the questions and give arguments in one foreign language;
• follows the basic rules of documenting the written papers and follows academic regulations in writing student assignments.
Basic Subjects. Economic Environment Objectives:
To develop understanding of economic and organisational processes, and ability to relate them with the specialty, and create prerequisites for handling legislation.

Learning outcomes:
The student
• has an overview of the economic environment, and economic methods and theories, and is able to utilise them to understand the economic processes in society at personal, institutional and government level;
• knows business and marketing environment, forms of entrepreneurship and the principles of choice, fundamentals of marketing and marketing mix;
• utilises legislation and its requirements in work situations;
• has critical understanding of the basic theories of organisational behaviour, detects work related problematic situations, analyses them, and based on management decisions and techniques suggests possible, including innovative solutions;
• follows the principles of project work, utilising the skills of planning and analysis, and responsibility in fulfilling work related tasks;
• has knowledge of the fundamental accounting principles, theoretical principles and accounting methods, and utilises them in economic transactions and in reporting;
• understands financial management terms, theoretical principles and methods;
• uses appropriate mathematical statistics and data analysis methods for solving specialty tasks, and is able to interpret the results critically and creatively;
• is able to independently collect study information and information in a foreign language using appropriate methods and tools and interpret it critically and creatively.
Basic Subjects. Information Management Objectives:
To provide students with profound knowledge of information management and information systems, and skills to cope with information society taking into account the requirements of information security and data protection.

Learning outcomes:
The student
• understands theoretical principles of organisation of information management and information systems in an organisation;
• analyses the organisation of information management, information systems and security in an organisation;
• is comfortable with opportunities of using key performance indicators in customer relationship management;
• understands the necessity of data protection and its opportunities, and requirements for data processing;
• manages and designs simpler web applications relying on current web design principles;
• is able to independently collect and critically and creatively interpret study information and information in a foreign language.
Specialty Subjects of Administrative Assistant’s Work. Organisation of Information Management Objectives:
To create readiness for organising communication and information management in an organisation to support activities of administration.

Learning outcomes:
The student:
• analyses organisation’s internal and external communication, and makes it support the operation of an organisation;
• follows legislative acts and the necessity and obligation for documentation;
• has profound knowledge and skills in organising information management and archiving, and uses appropriate information management systems;
• is able to explain specialty issues at least in two foreign languages and participates in professional discussions;
• is able to independently collect and critically and creatively interpret study information and information in a foreign language.
Specialty Subjects of Administrative Assistant’s Work.Administrative Assistant’s Work . Objectives:
To create readiness for working as an administrative assistant to support activities of administration.

Learning outcomes:
The student:
• has a systematic overview of the basic terms, theoretical principles and basic methods of administrative assistant’s work;
• has critical understanding of the main theories of leadership and change management; and utilises them in solving problematic situations in their work;
• follows the requirements of professional ethics and takes into consideration cultural and political differences, protocol and etiquette in communication with clients and in team work;
• follows team work principles in multicultural environment, cooperates with all parties, is flexible and is able to adjust to changing situations;
• is able to evaluate the role and consequences of professional activities to the society considering social and ethical aspects;
• is able to independently collect and critically and creatively interpret study information and information in a foreign language.
Specialty Subjects of Information System Management.Information System Management in an Organisation Objectives:
To create an ability to manage information systems in supporting the functioning of an organisation.

Learning outcomes:
The student:
• knows the main frameworks and standards of IT management and assessment and utilises contemporary technologies to evaluate the design and assessment of IT strategies in an organisation;
• has an overview of different development methods, standards and tools of information system;
• prepares requirements and analysis for an information system based on organisational processes or the wish of a client;
• designs appropriate IT structure to utilise the solution;
• choses applicable accounting software based on the corporate business and management accounting principles, and plans their application;
• is able to evaluate the role and consequences of professional activities to the society considering social and ethical aspects;
• is able to independently collect and critically and creatively interpret study information and information in a foreign language;
• follows team work principles in multicultural environment, cooperates with all parties, is flexible and is able to adjust to changing situations.
Specialty Subjects of Information System Managemen. Computer Network Hardware and Software Solutions Objectives:

To provide students with profound knowledge and skills in creating and managing computer network hardware and software to support the functioning of information systems.

Learning outcomes:
The student:
• finds appropriate hardware, network solutions and operational system for the software taking into consideration the needs of an organisation;
• programs easier software solutions using different programming languages;
• designs, tests, documents and applies proper software solutions as a member of development team;
• is able to independently collect and critically and creatively interpret study information and information in a foreign language;
• follows team work principles in multicultural environment, cooperates with all parties, is flexible and is able to adjust to changing situations.
Specialty Subjects. Research Paper Objectives:
To provide students with opportunities to utilise the knowledge and skills acquired in preparing the research paper.

Learning outcomes:
The student:
• follows the principles of documentation of written assignments and research papers;
• choses the research topic, defines the research problem, research objective and tasks or questions, and develops logical structure for the research paper;
• compares main research strategies, and data collection and analysis methods;
• describes the choice of sample and uses it in planning the research;
• presents appropriate theoretical basis and methods for dealing with the research topic and carrying out the empirical research.
Graduation Thesis Objective:
To enable students utilise their knowledge and skills in preparing their graduation thesis/passing the final exam, carrying out the analysis and presenting the results.

Learning outcomes:
The student
• develops, supplements, systemises and deepens professional theoretical knowledge and skills in the research field;
• is able to independently collect information in a foreign language and interpret it critically and creatively using appropriate methods and tools;
• carries out an empirical research using appropriate research methods, and analytical and generalisation skills;
• interprets research results and presents them academically.
