Curriculum: Production and Production Management 2018/2019



Module Description
Humanities Aims
To introduce specialty related scientific and political standpoints and attitudes and to allow to learn specialised foreign language.

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Can evaluate from the point of ethics the role and results of his professional actions and possible consequences to the society;
- Possesses necessary communication and team work skills and communication tools;
- Is able to explain specialty-related problems both orally and in writing ;
- Is able to participate in specialised and professional discussions.
Mathematics, Sciences and Graphics Aims
To give students basic knowledge about engineering subjects, to develop logical and mathematical thinking and systematic approach to problem solving.

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Has obtained basic knowledge in sciences on which engineering training is based;
- Knows how to use logical and analytical thinking and knows how to use statistical analytical tools in his work;
- Is capable to analyse and model different spatial form and volumetric forms;
- Ability to evaluate results of solving practical exercises and validity.
Economics and Entrepeneurship Aims
To allow to learn about the bases and regulations of the functioning of economy and to create conditions for obtaining knowledge of the principles relating to organisations and management, management levels and the role of a manager in an organisation.

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Knows the bases, principles and methods of bookkeeping and is able to analyse balance sheets and income statements;
- Knows how and is able to plan the bases of business activity and is able to take decisions based on acquired knowledge, analyse financial indicators, and to forecast possible risks;
- Knows the most popular management theories and is capable of explaining the manager’s role in an organisation and the principles of the creation of divisions;
- Knows the factors affecting organisation culture, team work, principles of motivating workers and change management.
Production Engineering and Technological Processes Aims
To give students knowledge about the development of technological core and support processes, their further improvement and optimization in processing industry

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Is able to effectively develop the daily life of production enterprises of various sizes and to plan long-term and short-term production processes and the need for production materials and equipment, and knows how to analyse the effectiveness of their utilisation;
- Is able to develop various solutions of materials and equipment utilisation, to identify the best of them and apply it in problem solution;
- Is able to evaluate the development needs of technological processes (including production techniques) and production units and to develop the process of renewal and continuous improvement of technology;
- Possesses general information in technology of production industry and product development processes and knows how to support these with his actions;
- Is able to apply the knowledge of supply chain and logistics in practice, is capable of analysing the functioning of an enterprise’s interior logistics systems, identifying problems in material and information flow;
- Knows and is able to apply quality management methods and principles and is able to apply standards and legal acts regulating the field;
- Is able to utilise necessary methods of supply chain management.
Production Technology and Information Systems Aims
To provide students with basic knowledge about the production techniques of different processing industries, automation of manufacturing processes and modern information tools and their links with various production technologies.

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Knows the basic terminology of production techniques, information technology and informatics and possesses knowledge about different business software and production technology systems;
- Is able to compose the terms of reference for the creation/development of an enterprise’s production process software and is capable of communicating with system analysists and programmers in the course of software development;
- Knows the bases of manufacturing processes and systems automation, modelling and simulation;
- Understands different web environments, can find necessary information for work and utilise it.
Production Environment and Resources Aims
To give students knowledge about the working environment, ecology and environmental protection in different fields of processing industry, and about all working environment and personnel related legal acts and their application.

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Has obtained knowledge about the technological requirements, legal acts and their application in the working environment of different processing industries;
- Has obtained general knowledge and skills necessary to manage on the labour market;
- Understands labour laws and legal acts;
- Has obtained general knowledge about personnel management and personnel development and basis of team work;
- Is responsible for his actions and acts within agreed practices.
Practical Training Aims
To allow to apply and to test acquired knowledge and skills in working environment

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Has obtained the general practical knowledge of the technology and production techniques of one processing industry ;
- Is capable of utilising his professional knowledge and skills in solving different work process tasks in different industrial enterprises ;
- Is capable of finding problems in production processes of enterprises and offering possible options for solution;
- Is prepared to work in a field that requires specialised qualifications, while demonstrating initiative, responsibility, managerial and
- teamwork skills.
Graduation Thesis Aims
To allow to demonstrate acquired specialised knowledge and apply acquired theoretical and practical knowledge in the solution of a specialty problem.

Learning outcomes
Student:
- Possesses systematic overview of speciality and knows minimum of one processing industry technology and is able to plan the effective work of materials and equipment in the field;
- Knows how to find different solutions to problems, to automate, optimise and improve production processes;
- Possesses necessary communication skills and information communication technologies;
- Is capable of utilising acquired knowledge and skills in specialised work;
- Is capable of phrasing specialty-related problems and offering different options for solutions.
