Curriculum: Automotive Engineering 2015/2016



Module Description
Humanities 22 ECTS credits, 9 ECTS credits compulsory courses, 13 ECTS credits optional courses.

Objective:
to introduce opinions and attitudes of science and politics in the field of the specialty and enable to acquire a special foreign language.

Learning outcomes:
student
- is able to evaluate the ethical aspects, results and possible consequences for society of the professional activity;
- possess the necessary communication and team-working skills and communication tools;
- is able to understand the specialty related information in foreign language;
- is able both in orally and in written form to explain the specialty related problems;
- is able to participate in the specialized and professional discussions.
Mathematics, Sciences and Graphics 37 ECTS credits, 37 ECTAS credits compulsory courses.

Objective:
To create a foundation and give basic knowledge of engineering and technology.

Learning outcomes:
student
- possesses basic knowledge in mathematics, sciences and graphics to further study engineering disciplines;
- is able to use logical and analytical thinking and systematic approach to solving spatial geometric images / drawings;
- is able to analyze and model different spatial formats;
- is able to use statistical analysis methods;
- is able to assess the risk factors assiciated with the use of the car and reduce the various risks;
- is able to assess the validity of the results obtained in solving practical tasks.
Economics and Entrepeneurship 12 ECTS credits, 10 ECTS credits compulsory courses, 2 ECTS credits optional courses.

Objective:
to understand rules and basics economy of the company.

Learning outcomes:
student
- has a knowledge in basic laws of micro- and macroeconomic and in
economics legislation;
- is familiar with accounting principles, concepts and methods;
is familiar with company's economic base and is able to take the necessary decisions on the basis of acquired knowledge;
- is able to carry out the simple market research and produce the company's
marketing strategy;
- is able to draw up the company's business operations, the company's costs
and financial indicators to predict the potential risks;
- is familiar with the basic concepts of leadership as a process and the
common theories of management;
- is able to explain the leadership roles in organization and formation
principles of the subdivisions;
is familiar with the factors that affect the organization's culture, team-work, employee motivation and management;
- is familiar with international economy including the countries of EU.
Engineering Core Subjects. Speciality Subjects 1 28 ECTS credits; 28 ECTS credits compulsory courses.

Objective:
to create a foundation to obtain specialty knowledge and skills.

Learning outcomes:
student
- is competent with automotive materials and can determine their mechanical properties
- understands the main principles of standard machine parts and automotive equipment and their basic calculation
- knows machining technology equipment and achieved tooling accuracy.
Automotive Design. Speciality Subjects 2 35 ECTS credits; 35 ECTS compulsory courses.

Objective:
to give knowledge and skills about structural construction of a car.

Learning outcomes:
student
- combines unit knowledge about car part construction, principles and functions as consistent understanding of a car as machinery product
- understands technological regulations set by car utilization type
- knows and uses different kind of simulation and calculation software to model car part
- understands motor car motion theory and measures main parameters with dedicated equipment.
Primary Speciality: Automotive Engineering. Speciality Subjects 3 53 ECTS credits; 49 ECTS credits compulsory courses, 4 ECTS credits optional courses.

Objective:
to deepen the knowledge about automotive engineering.

Learning outcomes:
student
- possesses skillfully design software
- comprehend industrial property and its protection concept
- has designed internal-combustion engine and motor car
- has proper knowledge and skills to manage car maintenance and repair workshop and to gather specific information about particular car
- reasonably argues for economic choices in technological process of car repair
- possesses main specialty knowledge to further study in master program.
Secondary Speciality: Road Traffic Management. Speciality Subjects 3 54 ECTS credits; 54 ECTS credits compulsory courses.

Objective:
to deepen the knowledge about road traffic management.

Learning outcomes:
student
- understands and comprehends necessity of pedagogical subjects to apply given knowledge for explaining rules of road traffic
- analyses situations in road traffic and syntheses optimal solutions based on given initial data.
Working Life 18 ECTS credits, 16 ECTS credits compulsory courses, 2 ECTS credits optional courses.

Objective:
to obtain knowledge, skills and competences needed to understand general principle of company and to support cope with working environment.

Learning outcomes:
student
- possesses main knowledge and skills to manage on job market
- understands labor law
- is able to be responsible and to act according to best practice.
Practical Training 36 ECTS credits.

Objective:
to apply and challenge knowledge and skills at working environment.

Learning outcomes:
student
- is able to use professional knowledge and skills to solve specialty related
problems;
- is able to make decisions to solve problems on company level;
- is able to locate the bottlenecks in company;
- is able to state the objective and collect appropriate data for his
Graduation Thesis;
- is able to notice problems and collect data to find out the necessary
solutions.
Graduation Thesis 15 ECTS credits.

Objective:
to prove acquired knowledge and to apply acquired knowledge, skills and competence to accomplish specialty related theoretical and practical task.

Learning outcomes:
student
- has a systematic overview of specialty;
- is familiar with problems in automotive engineering and road traffic management and is capable to find out respective solutions;
- possess the necessary communication skills and info-communication technologies;
- is able to apply acquired knowledge and skills in professional work.
