General description

Nature of research work. Definitions, terms and requirements. Nature and diversity of the problem. Variability of systems and processes. Predictability of events. Criterions of scientific approach. Setting of the scientific problem and selection of research topic. Formulation of research goals, planning and conducting of research work. Classification of research methods. Theoretical, empirical and applied research. Qualitative, quantitative and combined research methods and designs.

Types and stages of research. Planning of research phases. Selection of research methods. Survey, interview, inquiry, document analysis, case study analysis, policy analysis.
Features of research in business and management area. Philosophical basis of research. Research strategies and tactics. Importance of applied research in business and management of innovation process. Structure, content and topics of the graduation thesis. Referring and quoting.

• formulate research goals, plan and conduct research work
• compose the research plan
• use different research methods depending on the goals and tasks of the research, organizational and environmental restrictions
• use the acquired knowledge for conducting research work within the frames of the graduation thesis
