Subject 'Electrical Drives'Name in Estonian: Elektriajamid
General descriptionGeneral description of the electrical drive, development history. Electrical drive as the element of an automatics control system and as a control object of the system. Alternative current, three-phase alternative current, rotating magnetic field. Classification of electrical motors, work regimes, warming. Electromechanical conversion. Direct current machine. Three- and single phase asynchronous motor. Contactor control of electrical motors. Soft start of the asynchronous motor, drives with frequency control.
General aim- to provide basic knowledge about three-phase alternative current;
- to provide knowledge about the physical basics of the work of electrical motors, their construction; - to describe the electrical drive as an automatic control system of an electrical motor, - to give a survey and knowledge about the control problems, control devices and usage of electrical motors. AimThe student:
- knows the properties of three-phase alternative current and can compute three-phase electrical schemes; - knows the physical basics of the work of electrical motors, can choose motors, depending on the field of usage; - knows the control tasks and control possibilities of electrical motors, can compile contactor control schemes. Form descriptionLectures, tests (homework), laboratory works, written examination paper.
