General descriptionThe reasons for the need of special regulations of transporting hazardous goods. The regulations of transporting hazardous goods using different modes of transport. Classification system. The criteria of classifying hazardous cargo (classes 1 - 9), properties of substances. Transportation documents. Consignment and vehicle marking. Additional equipment.
General aimThe general objective of the course is to give an overview of
- the basic knowledge of domestic and international carriage of hazardous goods; - the legal regulation of hazardous cargo with respect to different means of transport; - the classification principles of hazardous substances - classes, sub-classes and package groups; - the safety-related obligations and responsibilities of the transportation process participants: shippers, transporters, packers and receivers. - hazardous goods packaging and marking of packages and vehicles; - the documents used in hazardous cargo transportation. AimAfter completing the course the students
- are familiar with the domestic and international legal regulation of hazardous goods transport and the related hazards; - know the classification principles of hazardous substances - classes, sub-classes and package groups; - have an overview of the different safety-related obligations of shippers, transporters, packers and receivers; - have knowledge of the principles of organizing transportation of hazardous goods of different classes.
