Diploma of Professional Higher Education AimThe general objective of the applied higher education curriculum is the preparation of the student for work in the chosen speciality. The task of the modules of general education and basic subjects of the curriculum is to develop the general educational basis and social maturity of the students. The acquisition of professional knowledge and skills takes place via theoretical subjects and practical classes, given in the curriculum, and through carrying out practical trainings in enterprises (working environment).
Speciality studies are mainly based on production-related subjects. A certain part of the curriculum is dedicated to purchasing and selling operations. The speciality of resource management in the field of clothing and textiles enables the graduates to be employed in different posts in contemporary clothing and textiles enterprises: the fields of product development, purchasing and selling of raw material, accessories and semi-finished products. After completing the curriculum the students have specialist knowledge of textiles, sewing and purchasing and selling operations in this field. The student who has passed the curriculum in full amount has the following competencies: - is ready to work and co-operate in the global field of apparel industry; shows initiative and responsibility for one´s work; - can apply the obtained knowledge and skills in one´s own professional activity; - is able to constantly and independently refresh one´s own professional knowledge; - can obtain, analyse and use information; - is familiar with professional info-technology and special terminology; - masters the speciality-related communication and management skills; - has an extensive knowledge of apparel field, knows the related problems, can analyse them and offer different solutions; - is familiar with the basics of entrepreneurship, arrangement of production, management and economics; - is familiar with the properties of textile materials, technological processes and equipment; - can use the basics of engineering calculations in product development, in designing and using technical systems; - is able to evaluate different solutions pursuant to modern technological capability, considering economic efficiency.
