Aim

The general objective of the applied higher education curriculum is the preparation of the student for work in the chosen speciality. the task of the modules of general education and basic subjects of the curriculum is to develop the general educational basis and social maturity of the students. The acquisition of professional knowledge and skills takes place via theoretical subjects and practical classes, given in the curriculum, and through carrying out practical trainings in enterprises (working environment).

Learning outcomes

The student who has passed the curriculum in full amount has the following competencies:
- has a systematic overview about the principle notions and terminology of the speciality;
- knows how to use engineering basics of calculation in product development, designing and running technical systems;
- knows the materials, their characteristics and technological processes, equipment, appliances and cutting tools;
- knows the measurement techniques and the methods of quality control;
- knows the IT technology, basics of automation, CAD/CAM systems and numerically controlled equipment; - knows the basics of entrepreneurship, basics and economics of production management;
- is able to formulate the problems connected to mechanical engineering, is able to analyze and find different solutions;
- is able to evaluate the found solutions based on modern technology opportunities and from the economic point of view;
- possesses the communication and management skills necessary for working life.
