General description
Various methods to improve drawing speed and accuracy. Exercises. Creating and editing curves (ellipse, spline). Point object. Plotting from paper space. Page setup. Creating floating viewports, setting exact scale for viewport. User coordinate systems (ucs). Creating, saving and restoring a custom ucs. Working with Blocks. Creating and inserting into drawings. Defining an attributes, creating and adding to the block contents. Inserting blocks with attributes. Editing attributes. Structural detailing drawing - drafting and printing.
General aim
The aim of AutoCAD is to introduce students to basic information, skills, and concepts related to drafting and design.
Aim
At the end of the course, the student is able to:
1. draft and design 2D architectural and structural drawings;
2. finalize drawings both in model and paper space layout;
3. plot the design from layouts and model space to paper or digital data format;
4. create and use AutoCAD blocks.
