General description
Introduction to the selections of materials and technologies. CES Edupack. Materials and materials selection. Standards. Shaping methods and selection of shaping methods. Joining methods and selection of joining methods. Surfacing methods and selection of surfacing methods. Structural sections and selection of structural selections. Recycling and eco properties.

General aim
The goal of the course is to learn to use materials selection program CES Edupack and with it to create materials and technologies selection for different elements and products

Aim
Student knows well the properties of engineering materials and is able to prioritize them according to the application and working environment of the product. To select materials and technologies the student is using the program CES Edupack. With the program the student is able to create different projects, based on the selection of materials, shaping methods, joining methods, surfacing methods and structural sections and eco properties. As and addition the student is able to justify the created selections and create written reports.

Evaluation methods
The course is evaluated based on the graphical solutions and tests. Grading system: 0-50% grade 0 "fail" 51-60% grade 1 "sufficient" 61-70% grade 2 "satisfactory" 71-80% grade 3 "good" 81-90% grade 4 "very good" 91-100% grade 5 "excellent"
