| General description |
| CADS Planner Electric and AutoCAD are the most comprehensive and most widely used CAD softwares in Estonia, which cover different areas of the electrical and automation designing, including buildings, industrial electric, automation and external power networks. |
|
| General aim |
1) to provide an overview of the objectives and connections between building construction projects and electrical installation projects;
2) present the underlying normative documents (laws and standards); 3) present the more used design softwares of electrical systems;
4) promote the practical use of DIALux and OPTIWIN lighting design softwares;
5) introduce the practical use of the power line calculation softwares Ecodial and Lühisvoolud (Short-Circuit Currents);
6) introduce the practical use of the AutoCAD software;
7) introduce the practical use of the software CADS Planner Electric
8) prepare a basic level electrical project of a small building or part of a building |

| Aim |
This course is a prerequisite subject to the of the following subjects:
1) MET320 Design of the Low-Voltage Installations;
2) MET322 Design of Substinations and Electrical Networks;
3) MET324 Design of Automation Systems.
Completion of the course gives knowledge about working with the specialized software and skills to draw up the above given projects.
After completing the course the student will acquire:
1) the basics of electrical project objectives, stages and layout formats;
2) general information about the design softwares of electrical systems;
3) general information about softwares for calculating basic lighting options;
4) general information about calculation softwares for power lines;
5) general information about AutoCAD software essential facilities;
6) the ability to use the software CADS Planner Electric at the basic level |
