General description
Analysing of business and profession-related texts, reporting and writing summaries. Lexical and grammatical exercises, exercises on communication practice.
Topics: Future profession; Place of work and company presentation; Company operation fields; Oral communication in the working environment; Telephone communication.
Independent work: making and delivering a presentation on one's speciality (Company presentation).
General aim
A business language course for the students of the following curricula: AT, EA, GI, LI, MI, TEI, TI. The aim of the course is to expand the vocabulary of business and professional Russian, and to practice oral communication in these fields.
Aim
After completing the course the student can explain the issues related to his/her speciality within the area of learned topics. The student is able to make a presentation of a company, report texts on business and his/her speciality. The student is familiar with business Russian vocabulary within the covered topics, and is able to communicate with clients orally.
Form description
Practical Russian language classes and work in the computer lab. Presentations. Independent work.

Evaluation methods
1. Written test on the topic "What does your company do?"
Grading criteria:
5 - 100 -90% correct answers
4 - 89 - 80%
3 - 79 - 70%
2 - 69 - 60%
1 - 59 - 51%

2. Oral presentation "Company operation fields".
The presentations grading criteria are provided by the lecturer at the beginning of the course.
3. Compiling a mini-dictionary of professional vocabulary: 150 words in minimum, 1/3 of them can be actively used.
