The main idea and significance of the subject. The background, culture and development of the EU. The EU (EC) treaties. EU economic policy. Evolution of the EU institutions and EU (EC) institutions: the European Parliament, Council, Commission, European Court of Justice, European Council, the European Central Bank and other advisory bodies.
How the EU works? EU's economic, foreign and security policy. The EC Treaty and politics: a customs union, competition, transport, social, regional and other policies. Economic and Monetary Union. EU science and technology. Employment, inflation, wages, taxes, and the standard of living. Analysis of the economic level. Foreign investment and trade. EU enlargement, the future and current problems. Energy problems. |
