General description
Introduction. Concepts of entrepreneur and entrepreneurship. Business idea. Market research. Group work to winnow out business ideas. Designing a competitive product/service. Financing. Negotiations with a bank and finance plan. Entrepreneurship incubators. Entrepreneurship as a sole trader. Pecuniary responsibility. Costs. Paying taxes. VAT. Special account. Business legislation. First day balance. Sale and production. Groupwork to improve sale and production of a product/service. Outsourcing. Rent, hire and borrowing of basic assets. Main problems. Expanding the company, personnel policy. Annual reports, the plans and budgets for the following year. Liquidation of enterprise. Realization of enterprise. Bankrupt.
General aim
The aim of the course is to give students an overview of necessary prerequisites and activities, forms of entrepreneurship and basics of successful operation for setting up a business. The course covers different stages from the idea to start a business to implementation and liquidation of it.
Aim
Students after completing the course can make a business plan required by Foundation Enterprise Estonia to be given a subsidy; they can analyse different business ideas from the viewpoint of feasibility of their implementation.
Form description
Lectures. Attebding lectures is compulsory. The final mark is made up as following: attending lectures - 20%, independent work to design a product/service - 40% and examination - 40%.
