| General description |
| Notions substance, material, physical, chemical and technological properties. Building materials (timber, metal, construction ceramics, concrete, construction sites). Various polymer materials, alloys, ceramic and glass materials, textile materials. Production, use, reuse and utilisation of materials. |

| The general objective of the course is to acquire the most important principle notions of engineering materials and knowledge about various materials as well as their impact on the environment. |

Student:
- knows the principle characteristics of various materials;
- can assess the hazards, connected with the production and usage of materials;
- knows the possible ways of reuse and utilisation. |
