General description
Main concepts and axioms of statics. The concept of force, adding and subtracting of forces. The conditions of static equilibrium of assembling forces system. The conditions of static equilibrium of arbitrary force system. The concepts of friction and rolling resistance. The determination of center of mass. Kinematics. The determination of trajectory of moving point. The concepts of velocity and acceleration. Special features of moving point. The concepts of velocity and acceleration of moving point on flat and by rotating. Dynamics. Two basic tasks of dynamics of free point. The main equation of dynamics. Inertial force. The method of kinetostatics. Work and power. Main theorems of dynamics. Strength of materials. Main concepts. External and internal forces, stress. Tension and pressure. Internal forces and stress. Dimensions. The calculations of strength of material. Torsion. Shift. Torque and torsion moment. Stresses and the calculations of strength of material. Deformation of stick. Flexure. Internal forces. Normal stresses. Deformations. Local stresses. The concentrations of stress. Contact stresses.
General aim
The students who have mastered this course acquire a fundamental base of engineering knowledge and ability to apply this knowledge for solution of problems of practical importance.
Aim
The student who has mastered this course knows the fundamentals of statics, dynamics, kinematics, strength of materials. Is able to use his knowledge in technical subject such as strength of materials, machine elements and theory of mechanisms.
