General description
Fundamentals of plastic deformation the metals. Continuous processes - rolling, extrusion, drawing, mechanic of processes, tools, equipments, products. Periodical processes - hot and cold forming, sheet metals forming, impulse forming, tools, equipments, products.
Plastic deformation of metals, stress distribution and structural changes. Strain hardening. Recrystallization. Heating of metal, its temperature measurement and control. Rolling. Rolling mills. Rolled stock. Rolling technology. Fabrication of round billets for seamless tubes and wheel blanks. Extrusion. Strains at extrusion. Forward and backward extrusion. Technology of extrusion. Metal drawing. Drawing eye. Drawing without mandrel, rigid-mandrel drawing and moving-mandrel drawing. Drawing stress.
Forging operations: upsetting, drawing-down, piercing, chopping, bending and twisting. Machining allowances and tolerances for forgings. Drop hammers and sledges. Kinds and construction of forging dies. Calculation of blank for die forging. Stamping technology. Forging presses, horizontal forging machine. Cold die forging.
General aim
Subject of the course is to give overview of metal plastic forming processes, knowledge of methods, tools and equipments.
Aim
Knowledge of metal forming and casting technology. Knowledge of the fundamentals of mechanical metal forming and casting technology methods and equipment and melting metallurgy.
