| General description |
| Classification and development of total stations. Principle of electronic angle detection and ranging. Parts of a total station. Accuracy standards. Equippement. Technological possibilities of total stations. Application of standard programmes of Trimble S6, M3, S3 and Topcon GTS 225 (adjustment, administration of data files, instrument orientation methods, coordination of points, range and angle displacement and setting out new point). |

| General aim |
| The objective of the course is to give the students an overview of total stations and their application possibilities in geodetic survey. |

| Aim |
Having passed the course successfully the student:
- is able to carry through most surveying applications with a total station;
- is able to interpret standard programmes of total stations, based on classical geodesy. |
