| Basic concepts. Estonia's road network and its distribution. Existence and classification of national roads. Related legislation. Road and its functions. Network development bases. Road design, road construction, road maintenance and upkeep. Facilities on the road. General knowledge of road construction materials and construction techniques. Requirements for road landscape architecture. |

| The course aims to give students general knowledge of the Estonian road network, road economy, road design, road construction and maintenance-related activities. |

| After successful completion of the course student knows the general situation of Estonian road network, understands how it is functioning, is able to assess the impact of road construction to his or her way of work. |
