| General description |
| Classification and development of total stations. Principle of electronic angle detection and ranging. Parts of a total station. Standards of total stations. Measuring instruments. Technological possibilities of total stations. Application of standard programmes Topcon GTS 225 (instrument adjustment, administration of data files, orientation on a known and free point of observation, prism point coordination, range and angle displacement and setting out a new point). |

| The objective of the course is to give the students an overview of total stations and their application possibilities in geodetic survey. |

| Aim |
Having passed the course successfully the student:
- is able to carry out the most important work methods with a total station;
- can interpret the standard programmes of total stations, based on classical geodesy.
