The nature of the sensors. Principles of operation of the sensing element. Sensors design principles. Sensors used in industrial automation.

General aim
Give an overview of sensors and actuators used in industrial, home and microprocessor automation. Give an understanding of how to use sensors and actuators and when.

The course ends with graded assessment.

Requirements for final grade:
-Written tests done for the grade "1" minimum
-Individual exercises submitted and graded.
-Laboratory work reports submitted and passed.

Valuation scale:
91...100 - "5" - Excellent
81...90 - "4" - Very good
71...80 - "3" - Good
61...70 - "2" - Satisfactory
51...60 - "1" - Sufficient
0...50 - "0" - Fail

Valuation of individual exercises:
-A (Pass): The skills and knowledge needed to solve the problems are acquired, minor mistakes may occur.
-M (Fail): The Skills and knowledge to solve the problems are not acquired, occurrence of vast mistakes.
