| General description |
| Safety. General characteristics of the devices used in welding. Arc welding. Gas welding. MIG – MAG welding. TIG welding. Spot-welding. Plasma arc cutting. Welding defects. Welding joints’ check. |

| General aim |
| The aim of the practice is to get acquainted with different welding technologies and practices used in technological processes. Analysis of internal defects in welds and the familiarisation of the mechanical properties of materials take place. Modern welding equipment and materials are investigated. |

| Aim |
| A student who has passed this practice is able to utilize different welding technologies used in modern technological processes, thus, understanding the essence and quality of widely used welding technologies. Is able to analyze the causes of internal defects in welds. Can compose technologies of simpler welding processes. |

| Evaluation methods |
| Formative and summative assessments are used. The precondition for assessment is participation in the workshops and group work, and the learner’s personal improvement, which reflects in the quality and level grades of the practical work, and summative assessment at the end of the learning process. The assessment methods comprise practical tasks, analysis and a written paper. |
