General description
Innovation: needs, ideas, solutions, product, world market. Development of business ideas. Stages of product development. Designing as handicraft, science and art. Machine elements and purchasing products. Means of practical design. Thinking on paper and calculations. Generating ideas - brainstorming and other means of group work. Morphological analysis, functional cost analysis, QFD. Creative designing on the level of invention and TRIZ. Scientific research as a part of product development. Patents and useful models. Team work. Testing of solutions and cost-effectiveness.
General aim
The aim of the course is to provide general knowledge about designing as one of the essential parts of innovation process, and about the methods of practical design and creative engineering approach.
Aim
Student after completing the course has an overview about the stages of product development; knows the methods of designing.
