General description
The course gives overview upon developement of the built environment from the middle of the 19th century to today. In paralell it views also development of the Estonian architecture.
The course ends with the introduction of the 21th century architecture.
General aim
The aim of the course is to create a broad base of relations between architectural styles and their development by evaluating the processes and background of modern architecture starting from the mid 19th century to the present day.
Aim
student
- knows the history and theory of architecture and of the related arts, technologies and humanities;
- understands the development of art culture and the processes taking place in modern architecture and town construction;
- understands the social role of the profession and ethics of architect.
