| General description |
| Using of reinforced concrete in building practice. Design of the main parts of the building and necessary calculations: beams, posts, ceiling slabs, foundations. Using of precast elements in construction and the principles of pre-stressed concrete. |

| General aim |
| The objective of the course is to give the basic knowledge of the materials, working principles and design of reinforced concrete structures. |
|
| Aim |
After completing the course, the student:
1. knows the properties of reinforced concrete and its constituents and how to use these properties;
2. has an overview of compounding of reinforced concrete structural frames of different buildings;
3. has an overview of typical solutions of main parts of the buildings – foundations, columns, walls, ceilings;
4. knows how structural elements can crush and what is necessary to do for preventing of crushing, also can do elementary strength calculations. |
