General description
Notion of intellectual and industrial property. Historical survey of industrial property development. The author, proprietor of industrial property. Invention, its objects and main criteria. Protection documents of an invention: patent, certificate of a useful model. Legal protection of a brand. Legal protection of an industrial design solution. Licence trade, licence contract. Business secret. Know-how and engineering information. Unfair competition. International agreements, organisations of an industrial property. Patent Office, patent library.

General aim
The objective of the course is to provide the students general knowledge about the objects of industrial property and their legal protection.

Aim
Having passed the course the student: - can understand the essence of industrial property; - can solve the primary problems, connected with legal protection of industrial property; - can draw up applications for getting industrial property protection documents; - can give special advice.

Form description
Lectures, practical writing of the applications for protection documents of an industrial property, practical work in a patent library, independent work, marked prelim.
