| The subject of geodesy. The shape and size of the Earth. The direct and inverse geodetic task. The construction of a levelling instrument and a theodolite. Checking and adjusting of instruments. Topographic map symbols. Orientation. |

| The objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge about geodetic instruments, levelling, calculations of a geodetic control network and topographic map symbols. Compile a portfolio of example calculations. |

Having successfully passed the course, the student:
1. Knows the principles of levelling;
2. Knows the construction, checking and adjusting methods of basic geodetic instruments (levelling instrument, theodolite);
3. Is able to carry out calculations of a geodetic control network;
4. Knows topographic map symbols. |
