Module 'Specialty Subjects'Building Construction 2018/2019
93 ECTS credits Objectives: acquiring field-specific knowledge and skills needed for working life. Learning outcomes: the student - is familiar with the commonly used principles of building construction, design and building materials; - is able to solve the main geodetic assignments concerning building and is able to handle different geodetic instruments; - knows the processes of building physics, the principles of effective use of energy and is able to apply them in the design and building of buildings; - knows how the heating, ventilation, water, sewerage, electricity and automatic systems are applied in buildings; - knows the principles of structural mechanics and stability for buildings and typical facilities and is able to calculate the actions on structures; - is able to use field-specific computer programmes; - knows and uses field-specific legislation, standards and technical norms; - knows the working principles of main building machines, their possibilities and is able to define their productivity; - knows the technology of most building processes, the requirements related to accepting the works and is able to evaluate the quality of works done; - knows the principles of economy, regulations and principles in building management and is able to use them in field-specific work; - knows the principles of building cost estimation and is able to compile a budget with time estimation; - knows the main requirements of occupational safety and is able to evaluate the effect of building to the environment; - has acquired the required specific knowledge and skills in order to manage in the work field and in the organisation. | ||
