Õppeaine sisu lühikirjeldus
Ainet viiakse läbi inglise keeles 1. GIS: main definitions, data structure, OpenStreetMap as example of GIS 2. Analysis of GIS data 3. Programming by example of Python – study the main functions and approaches of programming language Python 4. MS Excel – common information, table handling, basic function, graphs and diagrams (one lecture/ repeating)

Õppeaine õpiväljundid
Students will: - know the basics of Geografical Informational systems; - know how to analyse GIS data; - have the basics of programming skills in Phyton language and Excel

Õppeaine vormi kirjeldus
This course consists of 2 main parts: • Theoretical part – there are lectures with the number of computer classes • Practical part – it will be a project in which all of students will be involved Semester project (in general) All students will be divided into groups of 4-5 persons (depending on the number of course participants). Each group will become own individual task: one part of Tallinn where some searches will be done. Then this collected data must be processed. In the end every group will present their work and its results for all students. In the issue every group will become a note for this project. Exam A note of exam will be consists of 2 parts: • Note of project • Note of exam: 1-2 questions concerning lecture materials and a small exercise about programming language Python
